Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Cast and Camp Canada ("we", "us") collects when you use castandcampcanada.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors in Quebec, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

What we collect

• Usage data (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, how long visits last, how visitors found us, and general information about your device, browser and approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We don't use it to identify you personally, and we don't combine it with other information about you.
• Emails you send us. If you email us, for example to suggest or correct a listing, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to act on your request.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and our domain and DNS provider (Cloudflare) process standard request data, such as IP addresses and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We don't run user accounts, take payments or collect information through forms on this site.

Third-party services

These services receive some data when you load our pages:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC), for site statistics. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• Google Fonts (Google LLC), which serves the typefaces on the site and receives your IP address when fonts load.
• Vercel, which hosts the site.
• Cloudflare, which provides our domain name and DNS services.

These providers may store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law.

Listing pages link to external websites, such as business websites and Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we're not responsible for them.

Cookies and your choices

The only cookies on this site are set by Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without cookies.

If we add advertising to the site in the future, we'll update this policy before doing so and explain the choices available to you.

How long we keep information

Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account (14 months at most). We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and then delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@castandcampcanada.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you aren't satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Business owners

Listings show public business information, such as name, address, phone number, website, hours and Google ratings. To correct a listing, or to ask for it or one of its photos to be removed, email hello@castandcampcanada.com.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact
