Cast and Camp Canada

About

Cast and Camp Canada is an independent directory of places to fish, hunt, shoot, camp, hike and paddle in Canada, plus the tackle shops, outfitters, charters and rental outfits that get you there. We also list scenic lookouts, falls and lakes worth the drive. We cover Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta and Saskatchewan so far, and more provinces are coming.

How listings are chosen

We start from public Google Maps business profiles and keep places that have an established review history, so you aren't sent to a place nobody has visited. We take out anything that isn't actually outdoors and merge duplicate listings. Inclusion is free. No business can pay to be listed or to change what we write.

How the write-ups are made

Each description sums up what visitors say in public reviews: what the place is good for, what people liked and what they warn about. For lakes and rivers we also look up whether fishing is allowed and any local rules. Ratings and review counts come from Google.

Hours, prices, licences and regulations change, so check with the business or the provincial authority before you go. If a place is reported closed, we flag it on its listing rather than quietly removing it.

Photos

Most listing photos come from the place's public Google Maps profile, and a few come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licences. See photo credits for details.

Suggest, correct or remove a listing

Know a spot we're missing, or found something out of date? Email hello@castandcampcanada.com. Business owners can use the same address to update their details or ask for a listing or photo to be removed.
