Wilsons Falls
A series of cascades on the North Branch of the Muskoka River just north of downtown Bracebridge, with riverside trails through cedar woods. Free, with a small parking lot at the end of the road.

Wilson's Falls is where the North Branch of the Muskoka River tumbles down a long, S-shaped run of cascades just north of downtown Bracebridge. There are three small sets of falls and rapids, and the walk alongside them through cedar woods is as much the attraction as the falls themselves.
Drive to the end of Wilson's Falls Road to park; spaces are free but limited. From there, trails follow the river, and a fork near the start splits between a loop around a pond and a path closer to the falls. Several visitors point out that the loop doesn't show you much of the falls, so for a good look you either take the river path or view them head-on from the road. The trails hold up reasonably well after rain.
People picnic here, and one visitor noted people fishing, which is allowed on the river under Ontario regulations. Getting onto the rocks for a closer look is tempting but risky, as they're wet, uneven and slippery. Bring bug spray. Dogs are supposed to be leashed, though one visitor saw many running loose.
Bracebridge has two more waterfalls, High Falls and Bracebridge Falls downtown, so it's easy to see all three in an afternoon.
