Walker's Point Lookout, known locally as Berry Mountain, is a short Township of Muskoka Lakes trail that climbs through mixed forest and over granite outcrops to an open lookout. Visitors like it as a quiet place to sit and take in the view, and most say it's well worth the small effort.
The walk takes 5 to 15 minutes, uphill but easy for most people. Follow the signs at the fork near the top so you end up at the peak. Birds and chipmunks are common along the way, and one hiker spotted signs of bears. Bug spray helps in early summer.
Parking is a small grass lot at Walker's Point Road and Bradley Road that can be muddy, and one visitor ended up parking on the road edge. Leashed dogs are welcome. One regular rates Huckleberry Rock and Lions Lookout ahead of it for the view, but this one is quieter.
