Spahats Creek Falls
A tall waterfall pouring into a deep volcanic-rock canyon at the southern gateway to Wells Gray Park, about 10 km north of Clearwater. A short walk to a large viewing platform.

Spahats Creek Falls drops about 70 m into a narrow canyon carved through layers of volcanic rock, and the canyon is as impressive as the falls. It's the first big waterfall on the road into Wells Gray Provincial Park from Clearwater, and many visitors stop here on the way to the others.
It's an easy stop. The day-use area is about 10 minutes' drive from the Wells Gray information centre in Clearwater, and a short walk from the picnic area leads to a large viewing platform with a clear view of the falls. Reviewers mention plenty of benches to sit or eat at.
If you have time, the information centre offers free maps and advice, and there are more waterfalls and longer hikes further up Clearwater Valley Road. Dogs are allowed on leash.
BC Parks notes there's no safety fence along the trail between the platform and the picnic area, and the canyon edge is a long drop, so keep children and pets close and stay on the trail.
