The weir stretches across the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon like a long, low waterfall. From spring to about mid-September, white pelicans gather in the whitewater below it to fish, and they're the sight visitors mention most, along with geese and ducks. Climbing the stairs to the rail bridge gives the widest view up and down the river, and you may see a train cross.
