There are picnic tables and a fence along the lookout for safety, which makes it a handy lunch or washroom-break stop on a Slocan Valley drive. One visitor recommends a short path to the right, a few metres before the picnic table, that leads down to an old concrete wall with a bench and a chain-link fence, which saves scrambling down a couple of metres of rock.

It pairs well with time in Silverton and New Denver, and with the lakeshore campsites and trails at Bannock Point nearby if you want to get down to the water.

The only complaint is that the parking area is a bit tight, so pull in carefully, especially with a trailer.
