Sitting Lady Waterfall
A seasonal waterfall on Bilston Creek in Witty's Lagoon Regional Park, Metchosin, BC, a few minutes from parking on the trail to the beach. Great after rain, but it can run dry in late summer.

Sitting Lady Falls is on Bilston Creek in Witty's Lagoon Regional Park, right on the path from the parking lot down to the lagoon and beach. It's named for a rock formation said to look like a seated woman, and there are several viewpoints, including a wooden platform.
The falls are about a five-minute walk from the parking lot. The path and stairs are in good shape, but some steep sections could be hard for people with limited mobility. From the falls the trail continues about 1.2 km through forest and past wetlands to the beach, and reviewers recommend doing the full walk.
Flow is the big variable. The falls roar in winter and after heavy rain, but visitors in autumn found a trickle, and one recent visitor found the creekbed completely dry. The lagoon and beach are still worth the trip, and the park is known for birdwatching. We haven't been able to confirm fishing rules in the park.
Bikes aren't allowed in the park under CRD rules, so leave them at the racks. Dogs must be on leash or under control, and in summer they aren't allowed on the beach except to pass through on a leash.
