Most people reach the top in about 20 minutes on a direct route, though the full loop through the park takes longer. The trail is steep and rocky in places, and it can be hard to see where it goes, so follow the orange diamond markers. Decent shoes help, though plenty of people manage in sneakers.
At the base, Browning Lake has a walking trail, a small beach, picnic areas and fishing; the lake is stocked with rainbow trout, and anglers need a BC licence. Murrin is also a busy rock-climbing area with around 250 routes. There's no boat launch and no motorboats on the lake.
The parking lot is busy year-round and fills at peak times. There are two outhouses at the lot but no drinking water in the park. Overnight parking isn't allowed, and dogs aren't permitted on the main beach or picnic area.
