Numa Falls is where the Vermilion River squeezes through a short rock channel just off the Banff–Windermere Highway, south of Marble Canyon. It isn't tall, but visitors describe the water as fast, loud and an intense glacier blue, with spray you can feel from the bridge.

It's one of the easiest stops in Kootenay National Park. A small parking lot sits by the river, and a paved path of about 100 metres leads to a bridge right above the falls, with accessible parking. Most people spend 20 to 30 minutes here. The river by the parking area is scenic in its own right, and there's a picnic area.

Treat it as a leg-stretch on a Rockies road trip, combined with Marble Canyon and Paint Pots nearby; Marble Canyon Campground is close. Winter visitors say the ice gives it a very different look. A Parks Canada pass is needed to stop in the park.

One reviewer found it pretty but not worth a special trip, so set expectations for a short stop. Parks Canada and visitors warn that the smooth marble rock around the falls is dangerously slippery, so stay on the path and bridge.
