This trailhead gives access to the Mamquam River trails just north of downtown Squamish, where the river runs a milky turquoise below the mountains. Visitors keep it simple: easy pathways, big views of the river and peaks, and a good place to watch bald eagles.
The trails follow gravel dikes and wander into flat side paths, so they're easy walking for families and dogs. The area is part of the Squamish River system, which draws one of North America's largest gatherings of wintering bald eagles, with the peak from mid-December to mid-January. In fall, the nearby spawning channels fill with coho.
