Little Red River Park covers about 1,200 acres of jack pine forest and river flats just outside Prince Albert, bordered by the North Saskatchewan River. Most reviews centre on the playground, which is large and newer, with climbing structures, a zip line and around 20 swings next to the river and a metal footbridge. Travellers passing through on the way to the lakes say it's a good place to stop and let kids run. Picnic tables, fire pits with firewood supplied, and barbecue spots make it easy to spend a few hours.
The trail network is extensive, with more than 20 routes for hiking and biking in summer and groomed cross-country ski trails in winter. There's also a small downhill ski and snowboard hill and a sliding hill.
