Little High Falls is a low, wide cascade on the north branch of the Muskoka River, a few minutes from Bracebridge and right beside the larger High Falls. Reviewers love the clear water, the pines along the far bank and the calm feel, even though Highway 11 is close by. On a sunny day you might catch a rainbow in the spray.
Visitors park on a dirt road near the bridge over the falls, then follow a short path of roots, pine needles and rock down to the riverside. From there you can sit on the rocks for close-up views, carefully. The dirt road and path aren't wheelchair-accessible.
It pairs well with High Falls and Potts Falls nearby, and the area's trails run along the river. One visitor spotted a path toward a small beach, and kayak rentals are nearby at the private resort on the river. The Muskoka River is open to angling under Ontario's regulations.
