Jones Falls tumbles about 12 metres over the Niagara Escarpment into the Pottawatomi River, in a hardwood forest of mossy rock just outside Owen Sound. It isn't big, and some visitors say so, but most enjoy how natural it feels, with a footbridge across the top and trees clinging to the edges.

From the roadside parking it's roughly a 500-metre walk to the falls and bridge along the Bruce Trail. The path is rocky and uneven, so good shoes matter, but reviewers found it easy enough if you're reasonably steady. The entrance is marked, though a couple of people found it a little hard to find.

You can get close to the falls at both the top and the bottom, and the look changes a lot with the season. The conservation area has more trails for hiking and snowshoeing, and it combines well with other falls near Owen Sound.

Flow is lowest in August and September, when the falls can be a trickle. The river below is fished for trout, but the stretch downstream of the escarpment has seasonal sanctuaries in spring and September, so check the current regulations first.
