This is the classic view of Niagara Falls: the railing at the top of the Horseshoe Falls, next to the Table Rock Centre, where the Niagara River curves over the edge and mist rises from the gorge. The lookout is free and open to walk up to. Paved paths run along the river in both directions, and the welcome centre next door has washrooms, food and information. Security staff keep people from climbing the rails.
Most visitors pair it with other Niagara Parks attractions; one reviewer recommends the Journey Behind the Falls, which starts right behind the lookout. Walking the riverside paths is an easy way to see the falls from different angles.
It gets very busy, so be patient and move along the railing until you find a gap. Expect to get damp from the mist when the wind blows toward shore. Parking near the falls is paid and fills up in summer.
