The Height of Land tower stands on the divide between the Churchill and Saskatchewan river systems, a few kilometres north of Waskesiu off Highway 263. From the top of the stairs you look out over forest in every direction, and Parks Canada notes you can pick out King Island and Shady Lake on a clear day.

It's a short walk from the parking area, and visitors treat it as a quick, easy stop. Kids enjoy climbing the tower, and several reviewers single out autumn, when the forest turns colour.

One visitor followed a trail of about 1 km from here toward Sandy Lake and found it easy and worth doing. There's no water at the tower itself, so fishing isn't part of the visit, but Waskesiu and the park's other lakes are close by.

One reviewer found a lot of wasps in the parking area in summer, so bring bug spray.
