Greig's Caves are a string of large caves and overhangs in the Niagara Escarpment on the Bruce Peninsula, a short drive from Lion's Head. Visitors expected a quick look at a few holes in the rock and found a proper trail linking several big caves, some tunnels you can squeeze into and a short spur to a lookout over the Georgian Bay shore.

The owners get a lot of credit. The loop is well laid out and lined with wood chips, which cushions the climbs and makes the rock less slippery. It still asks a lot of your knees: several reviewers describe steep ascents and descents, tricky rocky bits and slippery footing inside the caves. Plan on about two hours to see the caves and the trail above them.

This is a place for reasonably fit visitors in sturdy shoes. One family who loved it still warned it isn't suited to people with mobility trouble or very small children. There's space for a picnic, and people who enjoy scrambling around rock formations rate it highly.

Bring cash. Admission is cash only, one visitor paid about $37 for two adults and a child, and the nearest ATM is a fair drive away. The caves are open in the warmer months, usually from May to around Thanksgiving, with last entry an hour before closing.
