Finlayson Point is a grassy bluff on the Dallas Road waterfront, just across the road from Beacon Hill Park. Visitors love the open view over the water toward the Olympic Peninsula, the benches along the cliff edge, and the sense of space so close to downtown Victoria. Several mention how windy it can get, which some found half the charm.

The waterfront path runs past the point and is flat and easy for walking, running and cycling. Parking is free, both in a lot and on the street. Stairways drop down to the beach below; one visitor followed a small trail to tide pools on the rocks, though another noted the beach stairs aren't right at the point.

Dog owners make up a big share of the crowd, as this stretch is one of Victoria's off-leash areas. One reviewer also found a posted drone-flying zone. Others come for a picnic, a sunset, or to watch birds and sea life offshore.

There are very few complaints. Bring a warm layer even in summer, take care on the steep stairs to the beach when they're wet, and expect plenty of company on sunny days. If you aren't a fan of dogs, note that many run loose here.
