Fenelon Falls is a small waterfall right in the middle of the village of the same name, where the Fenelon River drops from Cameron Lake to Sturgeon Lake beside Lock 34 of the Trent-Severn Waterway. It isn't tall, but the sound of the water and the setting make it a pleasant stop, and there are viewing areas and a park beside the falls.
Most visitors make a half-day of it. The falls are a short walk from the main street, with restaurants, cafés, shops and groceries all close by, and a beach a few minutes' drive away. People like to sit by the water, walk the short trails and watch boats go through the lock in summer.
Anglers fish from shore around the lock for walleye, bass and panfish. The stretch below the dam is a fish sanctuary with seasonal closures in winter and spring, so check the Ontario regulations before you cast.
