Dilworth Mountain rises about 300 m above Kelowna, and this lookout puts the whole city at your feet: downtown, the golf course directly below, and Okanagan Lake and the hills beyond. One visitor pointed out that you're looking down on the hoodoos that line the side of the mountain, which gives it a different feel from Kelowna's other viewpoints. Autumn colour in the valley gets a special mention.
It's an easy outing. There's a paved lot with free parking, a small playground and benches spread along the trail, so families use it as much as walkers. The loop trails are gravel and wide, and the city's parks network totals just under 3 km, so you can see most of it in under an hour.
Several visitors came from nearby hotels and were surprised how quickly they were at the top. The only caution is that some trail sections are steep and could be hard for older walkers. Sunset is the popular time to go.
