Cascade Falls is the centrepiece of a small Fraser Valley Regional District park northeast of Mission. A 30-metre waterfall pours into a rocky gorge, and a suspension bridge crosses Cascade Creek in front of it with viewing platforms on either side. Reviewers talk about the moss-covered trees on the way in almost as much as the falls.

The walk is about a kilometre, mostly uphill on a well-kept path with stairs, and takes around 15 minutes. Parents say it works for toddlers with a hand held on the steeper bits. The parking lot is a good size and free, with pit toilets, picnic tables, a covered picnic shelter and information boards. The park is open from 7 am to sunset.

Down at the base, a lower run of falls drops into pools, and on hot days people wade and swim there. Other trails leave from the park; one visitor followed Benny's trail up to a paragliding launch for more views. It's an easy half-day trip from Vancouver.

The FVRD warns that the creek is very cold and fast, with steep cliffs and slippery rock, and there have been fatalities off the official trail, so stay behind the fencing. A recent visitor also found litter and a lot of mosquitoes. Go early for quiet and bring bug spray.
