Candle Lake is a resort lake north of Prince Albert, roughly a two-hour drive from Saskatoon, and visitors love its clear water, sandy beaches and big sunrises and sunsets. Many have been coming since childhood, and first-timers talk about making it a yearly trip.
It's well set up for a lake holiday. Visitors mention kayak, motorboat and pontoon rentals, a boat launch handy to the resort cabins, clean cabins with friendly staff, picnic areas and plenty of local stores for supplies. Canada Day fireworks over the water are a highlight for some.
Anglers say there are plenty of fish, and one visitor saw lots of small fish in the clear water. With boat rentals and launches close by, it's easy to get out on the water for a day of fishing.
