This belvedere looks onto the waterfall on the Jean-Noël River as it drops towards the St. Lawrence in Saint-Irénée. It's a small, low-key spot rather than a major attraction, and reviewers describe it as a pleasant surprise once they find it.
The walk is very short. From the parking area by the municipal sports fields, you cross the field past the playground and volleyball court, climb a set of stairs and then go down another set to the platform. The municipality lists it as an easy trail of roughly a kilometre, with dogs allowed and access in summer only.
Finding it is the main complaint. Several visitors had trouble working out where the falls were, and one called the route hard to get to and badly signposted. Head for the sports fields at the back of the village and follow the few signs you can spot. The staircase makes it unsuitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
