Whistler RV Park and Campgrounds sits in alpine forest off the Sea-to-Sky Highway, about 15 to 20 minutes from Whistler Village. The ridge-view and cliffside sites get the most praise, with sweeping views over the valley and memorable sunrises. The road in has hairpin turns, and campers appreciated the safety mirrors on the corners.
Most reviewers describe it as clean and well run, with knowledgeable, friendly reception staff. Serviced sites have water, electric and sewer, while unserviced sites sit under trees with good shade in hot weather. The main washroom building is kept very clean, though showers are push-button and only a couple per side serve the whole campground. There are dishwashing sinks and a laundry, which is cold-water only.
There's plenty to do on site: a playground, disc golf, a games room, hiking trails and a steep path down to a rushing river. The café serves breakfast through dinner, with pizza nights and baked treats, and there's a small store. It suits families with kids and dogs, and people using it as a base for Whistler.
The trade-offs are space and distance. It's a big, busy campground that often books out, and some sites are small and close together with little privacy. You'll need a car, bike or cab to reach Whistler, and groceries are a drive away. One camper found the posted list of $500 fines off-putting, so read the rules before you arrive.
