Whistler Olympic Park RV & Campground sits right below the Olympic ski jumps in the mountains west of the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Campers love the mountain views and the novelty of staying at an Olympic venue, and the lodge encourages guests to walk up the ski jump hill. The paved road in often turns up wildlife, and Alexander Falls is a short stop along the way.
Facilities are a big part of the appeal. Serviced sites are spacious with full hookups and grass between them, and there's a neat gravel overflow area with some hookups for a small extra charge. Showers and washrooms are free and clean, laundry is free, there are dishwashing sinks, and the Wi-Fi is good. The day lodge is open around the clock with couches, a TV, board games, foosball and ping-pong, plus a café and a small shop. Staff are described as friendly and helpful.
Hiking and biking trails and lakes are close by, making it a good base for families and anyone exploring the Whistler area who doesn't need to be in the village. Teenagers in particular seem to like the lodge.
The main drawback is distance: it's roughly a half-hour each way into Whistler for food and supplies. The café closes for the season in early fall, which caught one couple off guard, so check before relying on it. Bugs can be heavy in summer.
