Campers describe them as conscientious and generous, from clearing up garbage left by previous campers to relaying calls for a tow when one family's motorhome broke down with no cell coverage. The shower house takes loonies and is described as clean. Picnic tables are in good shape, firewood is about $10 for a wheelbarrow load, and ice and propane are sold on site.
The river is the main draw. It's a popular put-in for rafts and canoes, with floats to McKenzie Crossing taking roughly two and a half to three hours, and a longer run to Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park. People also fish the river, hike nearby and hunt for geocaches. There are playgrounds for kids.
There's no power at the sites, though generators are allowed during the day, and some sites are tight for trailers with slide-outs. There's no cell coverage down by the river; a small Starlink Wi-Fi hotspot near the office is the only connection. Bring cash for the $10 sani dump.
