Townsite Campground sits right in Waterton, with the lake on one side and Cameron Falls on the other, and mountains all around. Campers love being able to walk into town, to the Prince of Wales hotel and to several hikes. Deer wander through the campground all day.
Sites are level and spacious, and full-hookup sites come with a concrete patio and picnic table. Washrooms and showers are described as immaculate, and the showers are free and genuinely hot. Staff are friendly. The sani-dump station is just outside the campground and easy to use. One trailer camper felt it was good value.
It suits anyone who wants to explore Waterton on foot, from families to RVers.
The campground is open, so there is little privacy, and one camper was bothered by people cutting through their site. There is no Wi-Fi and cell service can be unreliable. Early in the season, potable water may not be on yet, and one May visitor was sent to the fire station to fill up. Nights get cold even after warm days.
