Petit-Gaspé Campground is a quiet, adventure-minded campground close enough to Gaspé to restock supplies. Campers describe clean, private grounds, and one noted that Loop A has especially spacious, private sites with electric and water.
The facilities get good marks. An enclosed shelter has seating, dishwashing sinks, washrooms and showers, plus a wood stove that one camper found very welcome through 100 mm of rain. That same visitor switched from a rooftop tent to a rented oTENTik and had no regrets. Showers are described as clean and staff as friendly and helpful.
There is plenty to do. Stairs lead down to Petit-Gaspé's pebble beach, and walking trails lead to viewing platforms where visitors watched seals and whales. The recreation area has tennis, a playground and a heated pool, and there is a boat launch that takes coins. Families should know the first loop is hilly, while the loops near the playgrounds are flat and better for young cyclists.
Potable water is the main caveat. One camper reported the water was not drinkable during their stay while test results were pending, and another said drinking water had to be fetched from a nearby service area. Bring water or check on arrival. One reviewer also wished for more toilet stalls, and the store may not be open early in the season.
