Neys Provincial Park sits on the north shore of Lake Superior, and visitors keep coming back to the beach: long, scenic and lined with striking rock formations. The campground is split into four areas. Reviewers say areas 2 and 3 face the lake, some sites have their own little path to the beach, and area 4 is further into the forest and quieter.
Sites are well spaced with brush and trees between them, though one camper found some a little tight to back into. Facilities are described as clean. There are canoe and kayak rentals, and plenty of people bring paddleboards. Beaches are divided by dog rules, with one for leashed dogs, one leash-free and one with no dogs.
Hikers like the trails even if there are not many of them. The Lookout Trail takes about 40 minutes with some easy scrambling to a view over the bay. The Point trail and Prisoners Cove lead out to large granite outcrops along the shore, and one camper enjoyed the Under the Volcano hike. One loop is really several trails joined, so you can turn back when you like. There is also a playground and pavilion by the Little Pic River.
Bugs are the main complaint: expect mosquitoes and black flies in late spring and early summer. There is no cell or data service, and one camper noted a railway line passes by, though it was not very noticeable. Day visitors pay a fee, which reviewers felt was worth it.
