Facilities get strong marks. Washrooms are clean and well stocked, and the showers are free and hot. Staff and camp hosts are friendly and quick with maps and advice. In the Fish Creek campground, sites are well treed and firewood has been free.

A lakeside site isn't always a waterfront one: one visitor found the shore there weedy, mucky and rocky, with the beach and boat launch the only good water access. The same reviewer ran into huge numbers of black flies and plenty of poison ivy around campsites and shoreline trails, with little signage. Bring bug protection and watch where you step. The old water slide park has fallen into disrepair.
