Ferry Island Municipal Campground is on an island in the Skeena River, just a few minutes from downtown Terrace, but once you're among the trees it feels tucked away. Reviewers describe spacious, shaded, mostly private gravel sites with fire rings, both serviced and unserviced, and the sound of the river close by.
The camp hosts are a big part of the appeal. Several returning guests name them and say they go out of their way to help. A central building has showers, sinks and toilets next to a well-kept playground, and outhouses and water taps are scattered around. One camper found the showers hot and plentiful, while another found them cooling off by evening. Firewood costs around $12 a bundle.
