David Laird Campground is on the edge of North Battleford, close to town and the highway. It was once a mobile home park, which explains why many sites are unusually large, with a mix of pull-throughs and back-ins. Some have mature shade trees and some are open, typical of prairie campgrounds.
Services include full hookups on some sites and power and water on others, though one camper found the power and water at opposite ends of the lot and suggested bringing a 50 to 100 foot hose. Full-service sites book fast. Washrooms are older, each with a shower and two sinks; the showers are free but push-button timed. Booking is online through an app, and the Wi-Fi is weak or nonexistent at many sites.
For families there's a new playground, a soccer field, volleyball and swings. When it's dry and quiet, some guests found it peaceful and well priced, and one reviewer said most complaints are overblown for a basic prairie campground.
Recent reviews are rough, though. After heavy rain, two travellers found standing water, long grass and swarms of mosquitoes, and one found ticks. Several describe dirty washrooms, debris on sites and staff who were pleasant but couldn't answer basic questions or resolve site mix-ups. Highway and train noise carries. It's workable as a one-night stop; check your site on arrival.
