Danielson Provincial Park sits on the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, about two hours from Regina, and visitors talk most about the water and the sunsets. Reviewers describe the lake as clean and enormous, with plenty of small beaches and rarely any crowding, even in busy season.

Gardiner Dam is nearby and worth a look. Several people enjoy it as a day trip as well as for camping.
A few practical notes. The main swimming beach isn't close to all campsites, small black bugs can be a nuisance on the sand, and lights in the campground make stargazing harder. Wood fires aren't permitted in the day-use barbecue area, so bring charcoal. The visitor centre closes by the end of September even when listed as open, and one reviewer said pets weren't allowed in the area they visited, so check the rules for where you're headed.
