Every site has power, and there's a sani-dump with a water fill. The shower house has flush toilets, hot water and laundry, and several recent campers called it exceptionally clean; pit toilets closer to some sites are cleaned regularly. A couple of reviews from two years ago found showers closed and sinks out of order, so it's worth checking. Staff are friendly and helpful, from lending a jump starter to finding an RV adapter.

The shallow lake is safe for wading and good for paddleboarding, the beach is sandy and cleaned regularly, and there are several playgrounds, a camp store with ice cream and supplies, and interpretive programs. The trail network is a highlight, especially the 10 km loop around the lake, which is flat, well signed and good for biking and dogs. There's a boat launch and group camping, though one angler said the fishing is better at nearby Cow Lake.

It's popular, so reserve well ahead, and expect some kid noise. One camper paid a sizeable online booking fee. Cell reception is poor or absent, people drive too fast on the loop roads, some sites lack good tent pads, and there's no dog beach. Bring bear-safe habits, as rangers remind campers often.
