The rustic sites are shaded and roomy. One regular noted portable toilets were added near them, with flush toilets a short walk away. The same camper suggested avoiding the first site or two because of a bright floodlight on the garage, and noted mosquitoes were few by late August.
There are activities for all ages, and the September long weekend brings a big softball tournament with fireworks.
Dog owners should read the rules carefully. Two recent reviewers were caught off guard that dogs can't be walked on the campground roads or between sites and must be carried to a designated trail, with seasonal campers patrolling on golf carts. One felt weekend visitors weren't especially welcome compared with seasonals.
