Camping Tadoussac sits high on a hill above the village, and the view over the St. Lawrence and the marina is the first thing everyone mentions. Several recent campers saw belugas from the campground with binoculars, some almost daily. With few trees on many sites, stargazing is excellent.
Sites are level and clean, many with two or three services, and a number have sewer hookups. Staff are generally described as friendly and helpful. Family groups like the playground and the lively atmosphere, and there are Muskoka chairs set up for taking in the view.
Tadoussac itself is about three minutes' drive away, with restaurants, museums and tour operators. A couple of restaurants are within walking distance of the campground.
The washrooms draw the most criticism in recent reviews: small, dated, not always clean, and with shower water that one guest found scalding. Sites near the highway hear trucks braking on the hill, and one camper beside the police station heard equipment running all night. Campers with their own bathroom do best here, and it's worth requesting a site away from the road.
