Camping du Lac Cascapédia is on a quiet lake in the Parc national de la Gaspésie, a little removed from the park's main hub. Reviewers describe spacious, private sites, some right on the lake with a path to the shore, and peaceful nights with only the sound of wind and water.
The bathhouse has hot showers and an outdoor dishwashing sink, and washrooms are generally called clean and well stocked. There's Wi-Fi at the information centre and a good choice of boats to rent. Drinking water isn't available, so bring your own or a filter.
It's a good spot for paddlers, with canoeing and kayaking on the lake and river views nearby. Visitors have seen beaver lodges, a moose and grouse. The International Appalachian Trail passes the bathhouse, and one camper enjoyed an excellent hike from here.
It suits tents better than trailers. One visitor towing a trailer found the 10 km climb up the mountain stressful and their site narrow, with no hookups and a long way from the main hikes. There's no cell service except at a pull-off on the way up.
