Reviewers describe large, shaded sites, well-kept grounds and a quiet, country feel. As one RVer put it, this isn't a resort with manicured lawns and concrete pads, but a relaxed, affordable spot.
The owners come up again and again for going out of their way to help: finding a mechanic for travellers with truck trouble, bringing an air compressor and a tire plug kit to a guest with a flat, and fitting a big fifth wheel towed by a modified semi. Washrooms and showers are described as very clean, with hot water and small touches like a bench and hooks in the showers. There's a laundry room, and one guest found firewood already stacked at their site.
Families like the indoor pool, and teens in one group spent most of their time there. There are ATV trails on site that also work for mountain bikes. The campground is about half an hour from Sault Ste. Marie's locks and the Canadian Bushplane museum, and a food truck operating next door gets good reviews.
A recent visitor had two power surges from the shore power and believes it damaged their new camper's converter, and they were refused a refund for the remaining night. The same guest was surprised by how many long-term residents there are, with decks and sheds on assigned sites. A surge protector is a sensible precaution here, as it is anywhere. One traveller also found the signage poor when approaching from the west.
