Birches is one of the campground loops in Bruce Peninsula National Park, and reviewers describe it as spotless, quiet and family-focused. Sites are about as secluded as you can get with a larger trailer, and one camper had a rock backdrop that gave plenty of privacy. The sunsets over the lake get mentions too.
A newer campground hub has clean showers with good pressure, sinks with soap and hand dryers, a central seating area with picnic tables and outlets, and Wi-Fi. There's a playground and a table tennis table behind it, though you'll need your own paddles and balls. The park supplies free, dry firewood, and outside wood isn't allowed to keep invasive insects out.
It's a strong base for exploring the peninsula. From Birches the walk to the Grotto is shorter than from the Tamarack loop, with some boardwalk sections along the way. Families and large groups return year after year, and visitors enjoy the chipmunks, squirrels and raccoons, which will happily investigate unattended food.
Staff enforce the rules, so it's not a place to party, which regulars see as a plus. The lake shore is rocky, so bring water shoes. Keep food secured from raccoons.
