The area around the lake has plenty of walking, hiking and biking trails. There isn't much on site for kids beyond a small, old swing set, so families may want to plan outings.
The beach is private with an entry fee, which caught out at least one family who expected public access, so check before driving out. One day visitor found the gate closed at 6 p.m. without warning. The road in is very narrow, which takes care with a trailer, and you'll want $1 coins for the showers.
